FAQs

1: What tools do you leverage?

American Security Fund (501)(c)(4) leverages engagement, advocacy, policy development, and coalition building. American Security Foundation (501)(c)(3) leverages research, analysis, education, and ethics. Both boast teams with expertise and experience in technology, research, analysis, domestic policy, foreign policy, national security, coalition building, education, and ethics.

2: How do you facilitate American technological innovation?

Through engagement, advocacy, policy development, and coalition building, we work to prevent manipulation of American technologies, including hardware, software, and frontier AI models - in particular, we work to prevent export of American advanced graphic processing units (GPUs) to our adversaries, as well as countries that export compute to our adversaries. We encourage American and allied hardware and software manufacturing, data processing, and energy production, including through friendshoring and nearshoring.

3: How do you protect American technological security?

Employing the same approaches - engagement, advocacy, policy development, and coalition building - we work to strengthen U.S. laboratory, cyber, and other security. We work to increase U.S. government cooperation with American companies to strengthen industrial security. And connecting two goals - American technological innovation and American technological security - we work to prevent the disruption of the global flow of GPUs by maintaining the security of Taiwan.

4: Do you engage with faith communities?

Absolutely. We engage with faith communities to distill principles about human dignity, integrity, and freedom, then socialize them with government, industry, and other stakeholders to inform effective AI policymaking.

5: How do you balance innovation, security, and ethics?

We advocate for regulations that balance between facilitating American technological innovation and protecting American technological security. We convene, conduct, and participate in discussions to inform state, national, and international standards for AI ethics.
